2018 Election Information

The membership will have the opportunity to nominate and elect their next executive team. Nominations will take place at the first meetings of the year, January 30th to February 1st (see meeting schedule for locations) for all Unit and Local 2020 executive positions. Remember as per the Bylaws Units who have regular meetings will nominate at their specific meetings.

The Bylaws also require a minimum attendance of 1/3rd to meetings held by Local 2020 or the Units in the past 2 years to be eligible to stand for election to a position unless no one qualifies at which time the position is wide open. Any person nominated at the meeting that qualifies as per the Bylaws attendance rule can accept or decline their nomination or can defer their answer up to seven (7) days. If only one person is nominated for any position and that person accepts the nomination, they will be acclaimed to the position.

After nominations are held the Local will schedule elections for all positions that are contested. The elections will be held prior to the next meetings in April when the results will be officially confirmed.
